The day we arrived in Kottayam, Anna came to pick us up at the station at some unearthly hour of the morning and then a taxi drove us to her home in Vazhoor. We met her lovely parents and managed to stay awake through a cup of coffee and then slept for a couple of hours to make up for the lack of sleep on the train. For lunch we headed out for some Mallu food at a nice restaurant overlooking the backwaters in Kottayam and then got onto a passenger carrier that took us on an amazing little backwater boat ride to Alleppy.
SO jealous.
